Woodland Art
Woodland Art is a distinct genre that blends traditional legends and myths with contemporary mediums using expressive line work and bright colours. It is practiced by First Nations artists spanning from northern Ontario to southern Manitoba. It explores the relationships between people and animals and plants. It is rich with spiritual imagery and symbolism.
About Turtle Island
Turtle Island is the creation story for the lands now known as North and Central America, told by numerous Indigenous First Nations. Inside the studio at Totest Aleng, Indigenous Learning House, Groening will share the story of how Turtle Island came into being and how sharing stories and teachings have inspired his artistic and healing journey.
