The Finance Department provides financial expertise and guidance to support City operations. We provide responsive service to our clients, leadership in improving City processes and maintain financial policies and standards while supporting the City's Sustainability Charter 2.0.
Our department includes the following divisions and services:
    
      
      
            Financial Planning & Analysis
      
      
    
    Financial Planning & Analysis prepares the City's budgets and financial reports for the Senior Management Team and Council to demonstrate public accountability. They also help monitor and analyze expenditure and revenue trends throughout the fiscal year, assisting departments in achieving their financial targets to ensure the City meets its annual budget.
Financial Planning & Analysis is also responsible for:
- Internal audit
 - Procurement & payables
 - Capital budgeting and related financial reporting for tangible capital assets

- Annual Financial Plan
 - Annual Report

This division also oversees the Treasury Services section, which includes:
- Investments
 - Reserves & debt
 - Accounts receivable
 - Banking & electronic payment processing
 - Commodity taxes
 - Letters of Credit

- Billing and collection of property taxes as well as annual and metered utilities
 - Collecting district energy charges, dog licence fees, false alarm fees, secondary suite fees, and parking tickets
 - Main City Hall reception and switchboard services
